His Eminence, Metropolitan Nikodemus of Nigeria, accompanied by Fr. James Nwaba and Miss Deborah Omorere of the Social Outreach Team of the Resurrection Cathedral in Lagos, carried out a charitable visit to the Down Syndrome Foundation Home in Iju Fagba, Lagos.
His Eminence was warmly received by the President of the Foundation, Mrs. Mordi, together with her team of administrative staff, teachers, medical personnel, caregivers, and several students of the institution, who were overjoyed to welcome him.
Following a comprehensive tour of the facility, which included the bakery, music room, fitness area, sewing section, poultry unit, and crafts workshop, the Archbishop offered a generous donation of flour, macaroni, noodles, and other staple food items. This act of charity was made possible through the generosity of Mr. Kostas Yfantis, who continues to support the long-standing partnership with the Foundation.
In his closing remarks, the Metropolitan expressed his heartfelt gratitude for their warm hospitality and commended the team for their valuable work. As a blessing, he presented them with an icon of the Virgin Mary for their protection and spiritual encouragement.
